Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan described the United Arab Emirates as a land that has always embraced Kerala, noting that most families in the state have some connection with the UAE. He was speaking at the ‘Malayalotsavam’ event held in Abu Dhabi.

The event was inaugurated by UAE Minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who praised Kerala for its achievement in declaring itself free from extreme poverty. He called it a significant milestone and a model that others could follow.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan welcomed the minister’s remarks with applause. Sheikh Nahyan highlighted that Kerala continues to advance initiatives that improve the quality of life for its people. He also lauded the contributions of the Malayali expatriate community in the UAE, describing Kerala as a shining example of India’s achievements, with notable progress in social harmony, education, technology, and human development.
The event was chaired by M.A. Yousafali, Vice Chairman of Norck Roots. Other speakers included Minister Saji Cheriyan, Chief Secretary Dr. A. Jayathilak, and the Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Deepak Mittal.
