Zoho Corporation founder and CEO Sridhar Vembu is personally leading a new round of hiring as Zoho Mail, the company’s flagship email service, edges close to the $100 million annual revenue mark. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Vembu shared that over 70% of Zoho Mail’s business now comes from international markets, reflecting the platform’s steady global expansion.

Building a Math-Driven Team
Vembu said he is looking for individuals with strong mathematical and analytical skills to join Zoho’s growing R&D and technical teams. “We need strong mathematical talent. If you’re not intimidated by equations, please ping me,” he wrote, hinting that he remains hands-on in shaping the company’s technology roadmap.
Top Marks in Global Spam Protection Tests
Recent performance data underscores Zoho Mail’s progress. The platform earned an objective score of 99.329 in the VBSpam certification by Virus Bulletin, with a 97.47% malware catch rate, 99.87% phishing detection, and zero false positives—putting it among the world’s best-performing secure email providers.
Privacy-First Approach Drives Growth
Zoho Mail’s success is rooted in its ad-free, privacy-first model. Unlike many competing platforms, Zoho does not monetize user data. This stance on privacy has strengthened its appeal among enterprises, government bodies, and privacy-conscious users worldwide.
Expanding Features and Global Reach
Continuous R&D investments have added features like enhanced spam filters, image annotation, alias delegation, and deeper integration with the Zoho Workplace suite—a collection of productivity and collaboration tools. These updates have fueled adoption not only among businesses but also within government circles.Prominent figures, including Home Minister Amit Shah, have reportedly switched to Zoho Mail, as the government increasingly encourages the use of Made in India digital services. While Zoho’s origins are deeply Indian, its customer base and revenue growth are now predominantly global, underlining its emergence as a world-class software company built on local innovation.
