Kerala’s logistics sector, Avigna Group has launched its new logistics park at Puliyanam, Parakkadavu near Angamaly. Built with an investment of ₹150 crore, the park was inaugurated by Industries Minister P. Rajeev.

The minister said the government will support skill development programs for local self-help groups such as Kudumbashree as new logistics parks come up, helping residents find employment within their own communities. He added that the government aims to ensure at least one job per household. Regulations have also been amended to encourage small businesses around large industries — allowing up to 50% of a house’s area to be used for business purposes. Vacant houses can be fully utilized for commercial activities. Since logistics parks cause minimal pollution, they are well-suited to Kerala’s environment, the minister noted.

This is Avigna Group’s first project in Kerala. Spread across 21.35 acres with over 500,000 square feet of built-up area, the park offers modern facilities, said Managing Director S. Rajasekaran. Global companies like Amazon, DP World, Flipkart, Reckitt, Sony, and Flyjack have already begun operations there. The project has created direct employment for about 1,500 people and indirect opportunities for over 250 others, he added.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by MP Benny Behanan, MLA Roji M. John, District Industries Centre GM P.A. Najeeb, Parakkadavu Panchayat President Jayadevan S.V., Vice President Ancy Tony, Ward Councillor Rajamma, and Avigna directors R. Naveen Manimaran, Binay Jha, and COO Subodh Mishra.

Avigna Group, which has a strong presence in South India, also operates industrial logistics parks in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. With a legacy of over 50 years, the group has business interests in textiles, education, and real estate as well.
