India has presented its Akash air-defence missile system as a potential supply to Brazil, in the course of discussions between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin.

In their talks, the two leaders identified several priority areas for joint work, including exploring co-development and co-production of defence equipment.
Sources indicate that while the pitch is still under negotiation, India’s proposal underscores a desire to deepen defence ties and expand its footprint in aerospace exports.
This move fits into a broader trend of India’s arms diplomacy, offering indigenous systems like Akash to select overseas partners to boost strategic collaboration and defence manufacturing ties.
