Mariam Mohamed is set to make history as the first Emirati to represent the UAE at Miss Universe. The 26-year-old fashion student from Dubai, recently crowned Miss Universe UAE, will compete in the 74th edition of the global pageant in Pak Kret, Thailand, on November 21, 2025, joining contestants from 130 countries.
Breaking Barriers and Inspiring Women
Speaking about her journey, Mohamed said, “To wear this title is an honour beyond words. It’s not just my journey, it’s a reflection of every dreamer who calls the UAE home.” She emphasized that Miss Universe is not just about beauty, but about resilience and the power of women rising together.

She added, “The UAE has given me the confidence to dream big. I want to be a voice for women who are ambitious, curious, and driven. Miss Universe UAE is not just about beauty, it is about impact.”
A Life Beyond the Pageant
Mariam is also a keen falconer and enjoys camel riding. She loves traveling and experiencing different cultures, and her broader ambitions include reducing global poverty and empowering women.
While Mohamed is the first Emirati-born contestant, last year the UAE was represented by Emilia Dobreva, a Kosovo-born model residing in Dubai. Women of all nationalities can compete for Miss Universe UAE, provided they have lived in the country for at least three years.
Representing the Middle East on a Global Stage
Mariam is the second-ever Miss Universe UAE, following Nadine Ayoub. She will join other Middle Eastern contestants including representatives from Iraq, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, and Iran. Iran will compete under Miss Universe Persia, a global contest for the Iranian diaspora.
A Platform for Empowerment
Mariam Mohamed aims to use the global stage to highlight the UAE’s story of empowerment, innovation, and sustainability, showing that Emirati women are deeply rooted in tradition while also shaping the future.
