Students from MESCO Grades High School in Malakpet clinched the top spot at the All India Robotics Championship in Hyderabad. Their win has earned them a place at the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) International Championship in Singapore this November.

Felicitation Ceremony
The school held a felicitation ceremony on Friday to honour the winning team, ‘Falcons’. Retired DGP S A Huda, the chief guest, encouraged the students to face challenges with determination, emphasizing that “hard work never goes to waste.”
Breaking Stereotypes
Senior journalist Mir Ayoob Ali Khan praised the students for challenging stereotypes about Hyderabad’s Old City. He highlighted that MESCO outperformed top-tier schools nationwide and called for sponsors to support the team’s international trip. School Secretary Dr. Iftekharuddin assured efforts would be made to secure funding.
Student Achievement and Preparation
The team, which has been training in robotics for three years, secured sixth place in 2024 and first place this year in the RoboMission Senior category, defeating the nearest contender by a 50% margin. MESCO alumnus Huzaifa Mohiuddin, who contributed significantly to their preparation, delivered a presentation on robotics during the event.
Team Members and Recognition
The winning team includes Zaiduddin, Firdous Fatima, Nadia Fatima, Zainab Fatima, and Zainab. Each member was presented with a memento and spoke about their journey, the school’s support, and excitement about competing internationally.
Scale of the Nationals
The national championship in Hyderabad featured over 700 teams, 2,000 participants, and more than 5,000 live attendees. Students competed across categories including RoboMission, Future Innovators, Future Engineers, and RoboSports, showcasing their robotic skills and innovation.
