At 75, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vibrant health and unrelenting focus are a testament to his deeply disciplined lifestyle. At its core, his regimen is a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern practicality, with his diet at the very center of his wellness philosophy.

A key part of his routine are his fasting rituals. During Chaturmas, he often eats just once a day, a practice he maintains from mid-June to November. On sacred occasions like Navratri, he detoxifies his body by abstaining from all solid food, consuming only hot water. He says this practice is crucial for cleansing and maintaining mental clarity.

Narendra Modi diet and wellness routine

His daily meals are a masterclass in Ayurveda and simplicity. He enjoys moringa paratha, a dish packed with antioxidants and fiber that’s known to boost immunity. His diet also regularly includes nutrient-rich neem leaves and flowers, along with the natural sweetness of mishri (rock sugar).

For comfort, PM Modi turns to simple staples like khichdi, a wholesome mix of rice and lentils cooked with turmeric and ghee that aids digestion. For snacks, he prefers the light and steamed Gujarati delight, dhokla, which provides wholesome energy without heaviness.

These habits—mindful eating, traditional foods, and self-discipline—are more than just a diet. They form the backbone of a health philosophy that combines tradition and simplicity to promote physical durability, mental sharpness, and spiritual balance, proving that a traditional approach can be a powerful key to modern wellness.
