Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced substantial price cuts on its vehicles in India, reflecting the recent GST rate reduction on luxury cars. Effective immediately, prices for JLR models, including Range Rover, Defender, and Discovery SUVs, will drop between ₹4.5 lakh and ₹30.4 lakh, according to PTI.

Industry Response
Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, welcomed the GST rationalisation, stating it is a positive development for both customers and the luxury car market. He added that the move reinforces JLR’s confidence in India’s luxury segment and underscores its commitment to the market.
Luxury Carmakers Realign Prices
The announcement follows a trend among luxury carmakers in India to adjust prices under the revised tax framework. In a related development, Volvo Car India said it would reduce prices on its internal combustion engine (ICE) models by up to ₹6.9 lakh, effective September 22.
Implications for Customers
With these reductions, luxury car buyers in India can now access high-end vehicles at more competitive prices, reflecting both the government’s tax policy changes and manufacturers’ responsiveness to market dynamics.
