The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has rolled out Project Aarohan, an education support scheme aimed at helping the children of toll plaza employees pursue higher studies. The initiative, backed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, seeks to ease financial challenges and create equal opportunities for students from weaker economic backgrounds.

Focus on Nurturing Talent
NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav said the project reflects the organization’s commitment to employees and their families. He added that the scheme is designed to nurture talent and encourage students to become key drivers of the country’s growth.
Scholarships for School and College Students
Under the programme, 500 students from Class 11 up to the final year of graduation will be covered. Each will receive a yearly scholarship of ₹12,000 during 2025–26.
Support for Higher Education
In addition, 50 bright students aspiring to pursue postgraduate or higher studies will be given scholarships of ₹50,000 each. This move is expected to encourage meritorious students to continue their education without financial stress.
Application Process
Applications will be invited through an online portal where students need to submit documents such as academic records, income proof, caste certificate, and ID proof for verification.
A Step Toward Equality in Education
With Project Aarohan, NHAI hopes to bridge the educational gap for families of toll plaza employees and open up opportunities for the next generation.
