Indri, the flagship single malt whisky brand from Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd., has achieved a landmark feat, becoming India’s best-selling single malt whisky with sales crossing 20 lakh bottles in calendar year 2024. This is equivalent to 1,70,000 nine-litre cases, a first for any Indian single malt.
Of the total, 1,24,000 cases were sold domestically, while 46,000 cases were exported, reinforcing Indri’s rising global appeal. The company confirmed the news via a stock exchange filing on August 27, calling it a moment of pride not just for the brand but for India’s growing reputation in premium spirits.

The International Wine & Spirits Record (IWSR) has officially certified Indri as the “Number 1 Malt Whisky in India”, having outpaced both Indian and international rivals. “We’ve always focused on liquid quality and staying true to Indian roots,” said Praveen Malviya, CEO (IMFL), Piccadily Agro Industries. “This proves India can create world-class spirits that rival the best.”
Indri’s award-winning portfolio include Indri-Trini, which is a three-wood matured whisky, Indri-Dru which is a cask strength whiskey, the Indri Diwali Collector’s Editions, Indri Founder’s Reserve 11YO, and its new launch Indri Agneya, a delicately peated single malt.
All variants have won multiple gold medals and even the coveted title of “Best in the World” at leading international spirits competitions.
Manufactured in a 168-acre facility in Indri, Haryana, the brand was launched in 2022 and has quickly become a force to reckon with in India’s fast-evolving premium whisky segment. This milestone not only cements Indri’s place in the domestic market but also signals India’s rising presence in the global premium spirits industry.
