India’s Coffee Culture Just Scored Gold on the Global Stage
Bandarful, a cold-brew coffee liqueur born in India’s hills and made with Himalayan spring water and Chikmagalur’s finest Arabica beans, has just been named World’s Best Liqueur at the 2025 USA Spirits Ratings, held in San Francisco.

The liqueur, produced by Himmaleh Spirits, bagged a Gold Medal at one of the most competitive editions of the global spirits event. With top players from Europe and America in the fray, Bandarful stood out for its quality, value, and packaging, a rare trifecta that wowed industry experts and trade buyers alike. “Bandarful was born from a simple belief—that India could craft a coffee liqueur to stand alongside the world’s finest,” said Ansh Khanna, Co-Founder of Himmaleh Spirits.
Crafted in India, Inspired by the Himalayas
What makes Bandarful so unique? It’s more than a drink, it’s a story in a bottle. The liquor is made with a single estate 100% Arabica beans from Chikmagalur in Karnataka, a cold-brewing technique for smooth, velvety texture, pure Himalayan spring water, which gives it its flavor notes of coffee, cocoa, and spice
The branding celebrates the spirited Himalayan langur—a nod to the adventure, altitude, and authenticity behind every sip.
Global Recognition for Indian Craft Spirits
This award marks a turning point for India in the premium spirits scene—especially in categories long ruled by European or American brands. “From the coffee slopes of Chikmagalur to the peaks of the Himalayas, this is proof that when crafted with heart and heritage, India’s best belongs everywhere,” said Samarth Prasad, Co-Founder, Himmaleh Spirits.
Not Just Bandarful: A Winning Streak
Bandarful wasn’t the only winner. Himmaleh Spirits also bagged gold for Kumaon & I, their premium artisanal gin and another gold for Jin Jiji, their botanical-rich gin that previously won ‘Best Gin’ at the London Spirits Competition 2025
Founded to showcase India’s diverse terroir and cultural narratives, Himmaleh Spirits is fast becoming a name to watch in the international craft spirits space.
From chai culture to coffee liqueur champions, India is raising the bar—one pour at a time.
