Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services company, is set to acquire a 75% stake in Versent Group, a top Australian digital transformation provider owned by Telstra Group. The deal, worth $153 million (about ₹1,300 crore), will create a joint venture to deliver AI-enabled cloud and digital solutions for Australian businesses.
Partnership with Telstra
Under the agreement, Infosys will have operational control, while Telstra will keep a 25% minority stake. This setup combines Telstra’s connectivity, Versent’s local engineering expertise, and Infosys’ global scale. Infosys said the partnership will help boost growth and deliver greater value to customers.
The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of FY 2026, pending regulatory approvals.

Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said the deal will bring Infosys Topaz™ AI-first capabilities to complement Versent’s cloud-first digital foundation. He added that expanding work with Telstra opens new opportunities to speed up innovation for enterprises in the region.

Versent Group brings together Versent, Epicon, Telstra Purple Digital, and related cloud products. The company has 650 engineers, strategists, and advisors, and earned AUD 211.4 million (₹1,800+ crore) in FY25. Its clients include government agencies, financial services, energy, utilities, and education providers.

This isn’t Infosys’ first big move with Telstra.
