19-year-old Mahmood Akram from Chennai, India, has stunned the world with his language abilities. Raised by his multilingual father Shilbee Mozhippriyan, who speaks 16 languages, Akram was introduced to various scripts and dialects early in life.
Learned English in Just Six Days
Akram began learning Tamil and English at age 4 and shocked his parents by mastering English fluently in six days. By the time he was six, he had surpassed his father in ancient Tamil scripts like Vatteluttu, Grantha, and Tamizhi.
Speaking 46 Languages, Typing in 400+
By the age of eight, Akram had already learned 50 languages through self-study and online resources like Omniglot. Today, he speaks 46 languages fluently and can read, write, and type in over 400 scripts.
Set Records Before Turning 10
At age eight, Akram became the youngest bilingual typist. By ten, he typed India’s national anthem in 20 languages in under an hour. These feats earned him two world records and the German Young Talent Award.
Recognised Internationally
His linguistic abilities earned him a scholarship at the Danube International School in Vienna, Austria. He is currently pursuing multiple academic degrees in both India and the UK.
Tamil Remains His Deepest Connection
Despite his global skills, Akram considers Tamil his favorite language. He says it is close to his heart and remains rooted in his cultural identity.
