Following improved aerial connectivity, Lakshadweep is now emerging as a top global tourist destination with the launch of luxury resorts by Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group known for its Taj brand.
IHCL Opens Resorts on Bangaram Island
IHCL has unveiled two exclusive resorts in the Lakshadweep archipelago: a resort on Bangaram Island featuring 60 rooms, and Coral Pearl, an eco-friendly glamping site with 50 luxury tents. These properties aim to blend comfort with the natural beauty and local culture of Lakshadweep’s pristine white beaches.

Focus on Responsible and Unique Tourism
Puneet Chhatwal, MD and CEO of IHCL, highlighted the company’s commitment to responsible tourism. He said the resorts provide unique experiences deeply connected to the local environment and heritage, positioning Lakshadweep on the global tourism map.
Expanding Travel Options in India
Chhatwal added that these new resorts will extend travelers’ options by offering exclusive island getaways, showcasing India’s diverse and rich tourism landscape beyond traditional destinations.
