In a recent meeting with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Eversendai Group Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ A K Nathan proposed the development of a world-class manufacturing facility and an integrated training centre in Andhra Pradesh. The proposed facility is expected to span nearly 2,00,000 square metres, with potential locations identified in Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam.
Strategically positioned for efficient transport of fabrication equipment across India, this project aims to drive industrial growth and generate significant employment opportunities in the region.
Structural Engineering Training with Premier Institutes
Alongside the manufacturing plant, Eversendai also proposed setting up a Structural Engineering Training Centre in collaboration with IIT-Tirupati and IIIT-Sri City. The company also expressed a desire to contribute to infrastructure development in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh’s capital region.
Surbana Jurong Explores Housing Projects in Andhra
In a separate meeting, Singapore-based urban infrastructure firm Surbana Jurong expressed interest in investing in large-scale housing initiatives in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Naidu invited the company to actively participate in the State’s flagship ‘Housing for All’ mission.
During the discussions, the CM shared his vision for Andhra Pradesh’s future infrastructure, including the development of 20 ports and 15 airports, aiming to transform the state into a logistics and industrial powerhouse. He encouraged Surbana Jurong to explore opportunities in integrated township projects.
Outreach to Southeast Asian Telugu Community
Later, CM Naidu addressed a gathering of over 2,500 members of the Telugu diaspora from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Held in Singapore, the event showcased strong community support for Andhra Pradesh’s progress.
Naidu assured the attendees of plans to improve international connectivity, announcing efforts to establish direct flights from Singapore to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati, enhancing ties between the Telugu diaspora and their home state.
