The Kerala Innovation Festival (KIF 2025) kicked off with a vibrant showcase of futuristic technologies poised to transform the way we live. Hosted at Kerala Startup Mission’s (KSUM) Digital Hub in Kalamassery, the two-day event has already drawn over 10,000 visitors with its remarkable display of tech-driven innovations.
From robotic greeters and underwater drones to bio-ink for 3D-printed organs and AI-driven pet healthcare, KIF 2025 offers a glimpse into the near future of everyday life.
The exhibition spotlights startups and tech creators using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, and Robotics across healthcare, agriculture, sustainability, design, and daily convenience.
Bionic AI’s humanoid robots welcome visitors at the main stage, engaging children and adults alike in interactive sessions. A special segment also highlights robotic creations by school students, encouraging innovation from a young age.
Key tech highlights include:
- EyeROV underwater drones, fresh off their role in Operation Sindoor.
- Fuselage drones for satellite farming and precision agriculture.
- Astrek robotic exosuits, designed for patients confined to bed.
- Scire Science’s bio-ink, used for 3D organ printing, making it India’s first and one of only five globally in this space.
- Celeste Align’s wire-free dental alignment system and MyCare healthcare app, bringing cutting-edge solutions to the health-tech sector.
In the agritech and eco-innovation zone, attendees can explore:
- Aeroponics and IoT-enabled farming for urban flats.
- Seamoto’s electric boat motor, which retrofits traditional boats.
- A kitchen waste converter that transforms 50 kg of waste into compost in just 16 hours.
- A sustainable construction solution using bio-waste bricks and upcycled utensils.
Pet lovers will be intrigued by smart gadgets such as GPS-enabled collars for dogs and cats, and a comprehensive health-monitoring device for cattle.
Women-led innovation takes center stage at the MVP Studio, featuring market-ready products from female entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, the Kerala State Institute of Design’s student innovations, like a dual-purpose bag that transforms into a raincoat, highlight creative functionality in daily objects.
Interactive exhibits from Fab Lab Kerala further demonstrate the role of design and digital fabrication in solving real-world problems.
As the KIF continues until July 26, the event reinforces Kerala’s position at the forefront of technological innovation, inclusive entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
