Kaynes Electronics Manufacturing Pvt Ltd (KEMPL), a subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India, has announced plans to invest ₹352 crore to establish a new manufacturing unit in Bhopal’s Badwai IT Park. The announcement was made on July 13 as part of efforts to expand the company’s national footprint.
Production to Begin by Mid-2026
The upcoming factory will be built on a five-acre site and is expected to begin operations by mid-2026. It will focus on producing electronic components for various sectors using advanced manufacturing technologies. The project is anticipated to generate over 1,000 skilled jobs in the region.
Part of Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Policy 2025
The investment falls under the Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Policy 2025, a state initiative aimed at attracting technology firms through infrastructure support, incentives, and workforce development. The policy is designed to position Madhya Pradesh as a competitive hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
Kaynes Expands into Central India
This Bhopal plant will be Kaynes’ first major facility in Central India, complementing its existing network of eight manufacturing units across the country. With over three decades of experience, Kaynes provides electronic solutions to industries such as automotive, aerospace, defence, healthcare, and IoT.
Company Sees Strategic Growth Opportunity
Raghu Panicker, CEO of Kaynes Technology India Limited, stated that the new plant will not only support the company’s growing customer base but also contribute to India’s emergence as a global manufacturing hub.
Government Backing Through CCIP Initiative
The project is being supported by the Department of Science and Technology under the CCIP (Cabinet Committee on Investment Promotion) initiative. This platform aims to facilitate collaboration between government and industry, particularly in high-tech sectors like electronics and semiconductors.
State Plans Space Tech Policy for August
In a parallel move to strengthen its tech ecosystem, the Madhya Pradesh government is preparing to launch a dedicated space tech policy by August. Sanjay Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development and Housing, highlighted the state’s readiness, citing academic infrastructure and talent availability, particularly through institutions like IIT Indore.
Focus on Collaboration with ISRO and Startups
The upcoming space policy aims to complement the central government’s national space strategy. The MP government is already engaging with ISRO-linked startups and industry experts to address areas that have been overlooked and to create new growth opportunities in the space sector.
