These industry leaders take creative and financial risks to bring films to life. Here’s a look at the top film producers in India in 2025 and the empires they’ve built.

Kalanithi Maran – ₹33,400 Crore
Kalanithi Maran tops the list as India’s richest film producer. He owns the Sun Group and its film division, Sun Pictures, which has delivered major Tamil hits such as Enthiran, Petta, and Jailer.

Ronnie Screwvala – ₹12,800 Crore
Founder of UTV Motion Pictures, Ronnie Screwvala sold his company to Disney for $1 billion. His current production house, RSVP Movies, has backed successful films like Uri and Kedarnath.

Aditya Chopra – ₹7,500 Crore
Aditya Chopra heads Yash Raj Films, one of the most influential banners in Bollywood. He is known for producing and distributing some of the industry’s biggest blockbusters.

Arjan and Kishore Lulla – ₹7,400 Crore
The Lulla brothers are the driving force behind Eros International. They have been instrumental in funding a wide range of Bollywood and regional language films.

Karan Johar – ₹1,700 Crore

Gauri Khan – ₹1,600 Crore

Aamir Khan – ₹1,500 Crore

Bhushan Kumar – ₹1,400 Crore

Sajid Nadiadwala – ₹1,100 Crore
Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, is behind major hits like Kick and the Baaghi franchise, making him a reliable name in commercial cinema.

Ekta Kapoor – ₹1,030 Crore
Ekta Kapoor, through Balaji Telefilms, has built a media empire spanning television and cinema. She is known for redefining daily soaps and also producing bold and experimental films.
