This marks Prime Minister Modi’s first-ever visit to Namibia, and only the third time an Indian Prime Minister has visited the southern African nation.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Earlier in the day, PM Modi held bilateral talks with President Nandi-Ndaitwah, focusing on expanding cooperation between the two nations. As part of the discussions, India and Namibia signed four agreements covering key sectors such as energy and healthcare.
These agreements reflect the growing strategic engagement between the two countries and highlight India’s focus on enhancing ties with Africa.
Modi’s 27th International Honour
The Namibian civilian award is the 27th international honour received by PM Modi from a foreign government since taking office in May 2014. The recognitions reflect his continued diplomatic outreach and efforts to strengthen India’s global partnerships.
