Andhra Pradesh’s IT Minister Nara Lokesh has signed a strategic agreement with ANSR, a global leader in setting up and managing Global Capability Centers (GCCs). The MoU was signed during Lokesh’s roadshow in Bengaluru, aiming to attract large-scale IT investments into the state.
Under this partnership, ANSR will help develop a state-of-the-art innovation campus within the Madhurawada IT cluster in Visakhapatnam. The campus is expected to generate over 10,000 jobs in the next five years.

ANSR to Leverage Local Talent Ecosystem
ANSR has a strong global track record, having facilitated 135 GCCs globally with a cumulative investment of $2 billion. The company will work closely with Andhra Pradesh to help global enterprises tap into the region’s skilled workforce.
ANSR CEO Lalit Ahuja described Visakhapatnam as an ideal location due to its combination of world-class talent, infrastructure, and visionary leadership. He said the upcoming innovation campus will become a preferred GCC destination for top international companies.
Driving Employment Through Technology
Minister Lokesh reaffirmed the government’s mission to generate 2 million jobs over four years, with 5,00,000 jobs targeted in IT and GCC sectors. He emphasized Visakhapatnam’s potential, calling it a blend of Bengaluru’s tech culture and Goa’s livability, and highlighted its transformation into a business and talent hub.
Visakhapatnam to Lead India’s Digital Revolution
Lokesh shared updates on major developments, including Google setting up its first and largest data center outside the US in Visakhapatnam. He announced plans to build India’s largest data city with AI labs, analytics hubs, cloud infrastructure, and computing clusters.
To attract global players, the government has been offering land at highly subsidized rates (₹0.99 per acre) to firms like TCS and Cognizant. Lokesh also stated the goal of bringing the top 100 IT companies to Andhra Pradesh.
Academic and Infrastructure Alignment
To meet industry demands, the state is aligning academic curricula with GCC skill needs, especially in areas like cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity, and product engineering. The government is partnering with companies to ensure a future-ready talent pool.
Developing Smart Cities and Connectivity
As part of its Emerging Cities framework, Andhra Pradesh is also developing smart infrastructure in Amaravati, Tirupati, Anantapur, and Kakinada. Lokesh noted that work is in progress on Bhogapuram International Airport to strengthen air connectivity.

The announcement event was also attended by state IT secretary Katamneni Bhaskar, reinforcing the administration’s unified push to position Andhra Pradesh as a major global IT destination
