Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL) has successfully commissioned India’s first off-grid 5 MW Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant in Kutch, Gujarat. This state-of-the-art facility operates entirely on solar power and is equipped with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), making it a fully off-grid, renewable-powered project and a significant step in the country’s clean energy journey.

Innovative Green Hydrogen Production
The plant features a fully automated, closed-loop electrolyzer system capable of dynamically adapting to real-time solar energy inputs. This design improves the system’s flexibility and efficiency while ensuring operational safety and consistency, even with variable solar output.
Support for India’s Hydrogen Goals
The pilot plant reinforces Adani Group’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and leadership in green hydrogen. It supports India’s ambition to become a global leader in green hydrogen production and paves the way for clean solutions in hard-to-abate sectors such as refining, fertilisers, and heavy transport.
Foundation for the Mundra Green Hydrogen Hub
This Kutch pilot also acts as a proof of concept ahead of ANIL’s larger Green Hydrogen Hub planned in Mundra, Gujarat. This upcoming facility is expected to play a key role in India’s low-carbon future by producing green hydrogen and its derivatives at scale.
Aligned with National Green Hydrogen Mission
The initiative is aligned with the Government of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), which aims to reduce energy imports, promote industrial decarbonisation, and enhance energy self-reliance as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
