Reliance 4IR Realty Development, a unit linked to billionaire Mukesh Ambani, has paid a $10 million development fee to the Trump Organisation. This fee was reportedly for licensing the Trump brand name in Mumbai, though the specific project associated with the payment remains undisclosed, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Foreign Licensing Revenues Surge for Trump Organisation
This payment adds Reliance to the list of foreign investors contributing to the Trump Organisation’s international revenue stream. In 2024, the firm reportedly received $44.6 million in licensing and development fees from projects in Vietnam, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and other countries. This figure surpasses the $8.2 million received in 2023 and $9.4 million in 2022.

Ambani and Trump Ties in Global Settings
Mukesh Ambani had earlier attended Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony in the United States and was also present at a state dinner hosted by the Emir of Qatar in honor of Trump in Doha. These interactions signal ongoing ties between the two business families across international forums.
Trump Organisation Resumes Foreign Expansion
Unlike Trump’s first term, when the company paused foreign projects to avoid conflict-of-interest criticism, the Trump Organisation has now relaxed those restrictions. Donald Trump Jr. stated in a Qatar-based event in May that the firm will proceed with business as usual, avoiding only direct transactions with foreign governments.
Reliance Declines to Comment
As per WSJ, representatives of Reliance did not respond to inquiries about the payment or the related project details.
The deal reflects the Trump Organisation’s active push into global real estate markets during Trump’s current presidency, while aligning with the Ambani group’s luxury-focused property developments in India.
