Actor Nivin Pauly shared that he has always dreamed of starting a business or a startup since his college days. Speaking at the launch event of HackGen AI 2025 in Kochi, he expressed his interest in entrepreneurship and technology.
India’s Largest Generative AI Hackathon
Nivin launched the logo and website of HackGen AI 2025, described as India’s biggest generative AI hackathon. The event is being organized by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and will take place at the KSUM campus in Kochi as part of the Kerala Innovation Festival on July 25–26.

Supporting AI Startups
Nivin said he will actively support startups working on AI-related problem-solving. He emphasized the potential of AI in solving industry-specific challenges, especially in cinema production and scripting.
Collaboration with His Initiatives
The event is supported by Nivin’s own ventures, Pauly Junior and Super Bryn, which are collaborating with HackGen AI. Nivin believes that AI can provide innovative solutions to long-standing problems in the film industry.
Missed Opportunities and Renewed Focus
Nivin admitted that though he always wanted to launch an AI-related business, earlier he lacked proper support and resources. After entering the film industry, his entrepreneurship plans were sidelined, though he has invested in a few startups over the years.
Cinema Meets Technology
His interest in AI grew through discussions with others, eventually leading to the idea of building an AI platform for solving cinema-related problems. He mentioned working on tools to improve systematic processes in film production.
Excited to Be Part of Kerala Innovation Festival
Nivin expressed happiness in joining hands with Kerala Startup Mission for the innovation festival. He said he is thrilled to be part of an ecosystem that supports new ideas and entrepreneurship in technology.
