Hillang Yajik, a 25-year-old fitness model from Kurung Kumey district in Arunachal Pradesh, made history by winning a gold and a silver medal at the 15th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2025. The event was held in Thimphu, Bhutan, from June 11 to 15.

Yajik has now become the first female athlete from Arunachal Pradesh to win a gold medal at an international bodybuilding competition.

Rise to Fame in Bodybuilding

Known as Arunachal’s first female bodybuilder, Hillang Yajik first gained national attention after she was selected to represent India in the 56th Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship in 2024. She also participated in the 15th WBPF World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship the same year.

Selection and Early Journey

Her entry into international competitions began after she cleared a selection trial conducted by the Indian Body Builders Federation and the Bodybuilding Association of Kerala in Ernakulam. This success earned her spots in both the Asian and World Championships held in 2024.

Message to Fans

After her win in Bhutan, Yajik shared a message with her followers on Instagram, expressing gratitude and promising that more championships and achievements are on the way.

Hillang Yajik’s achievements are being celebrated not just in Arunachal Pradesh but across India as a significant moment for women in Indian fitness and bodybuilding.
