A new chapter in Kerala’s industrial development began with the launch of the KINFRA Mini Industrial Park at Thonnakkal, Thiruvananthapuram. Developed over 7.48 acres at a cost of ₹6 crore, the park was officially inaugurated by Minister P. Rajeev. The facility has already been fully allotted to entrepreneurs.

Sector-Wise Unit Allocation
The mini industrial park will host 18 units across key sectors such as food processing, paper-based industries, furniture, hardware, aerospace, and defence. The park is expected to support non-polluting industries, categorized under the general sector.
Early Success in Investment and Employment
Even before its formal inauguration, the park attracted investments worth ₹50 crore and created nearly 350 job opportunities, highlighting its potential for rapid economic contribution.
Strategic Development and Infrastructure
The park was developed under the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA), functioning under the state’s Department of Industries. Basic infrastructure including roads, water supply, and electricity distribution has already been established to facilitate operations.
Sectoral Demand and Registrations
Several businesses have already registered to operate in sectors like aerospace, defence, food, logistics, hardware, and furniture. The park is envisioned as a pollution-free industrial zone to promote sustainable entrepreneurship.Kerala’s Industrial Push
