Ness Wadia is a well-known figure in Indian business circles. As the elder son of Nusli and Maureen Wadia, he is heir to the historic 283-year-old Wadia Group. He serves as Managing Director of Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation and is co-owner of the Indian Premier League team Punjab Kings.

Background and Career

Born into a Parsi family in Mumbai, Ness Wadia completed his M.Sc in Engineering Management from the University of Warwick. He began working at Bombay Dyeing in 2001 and holds directorships in several Wadia Group companies, including GoAir, Britannia, Wadia Techno Engineering Services, and Bombay Dyeing.

Family Heritage

Ness Wadia is the great-grandson of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. His grandparents were Neville and Dina Wadia, linking him closely to this prominent legacy.

Controversy and Legal Disputes

Ness Wadia was involved in a high-profile legal controversy after Bollywood actress Preity Zinta filed an FIR against him and co-director Mohit Burman in 2025. Zinta questioned the legality of an Extraordinary General Meeting and alleged that her objections were ignored.

Relationship with Preity Zinta

Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta’s relationship, confirmed in 2005, was often in the public eye. They appeared together at events and cricket matches. However, the relationship ended amid allegations of physical abuse by Zinta, who accused Wadia of molestation in 2014. Wadia denied the allegations and filed a counter-case.

Resolution

The legal battle continued until 2018, when Ness Wadia issued a public apology to Preity Zinta. Following this, Zinta withdrew her case, bringing an end to the dispute.
