Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled India’s first fully designed AI server, developed by VVDN Technologies. The server, built with 8 GPUs, marks a significant step in India’s journey toward advanced electronics and AI capabilities. The minister emphasized that this achievement reflects the nation’s growing strength in indigenous technology design and innovation.
Boost to Make in India and Electronics Manufacturing
During the launch of VVDN’s new SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Line at the company’s Global Innovation Park in Manesar, the minister called the development a major milestone for the “Make in India” initiative. He stated that electronics manufacturing in India has seen a fivefold increase over the past decade, now exceeding ₹11 lakh crore.

Focus on Intellectual Property and Investor Confidence
Vaishnaw highlighted India’s commitment to protecting intellectual property rights, which is attracting global investor confidence and promoting innovation. He noted that the reliability of Indian-made products and their growing reputation globally are strengthening the country’s manufacturing sector.
Design Talent Driving Growth
The minister praised India’s rapidly evolving design capabilities, which now extend to sectors like automotive, power electronics, signalling, and security. At the Manesar facility, he pointed out that VVDN employs nearly 5,000 engineers, many of whom are involved in designing highly complex AI-driven products. He called this a “big leap,” emphasizing that India’s advantage lies in its strong base of design talent.
Growth in Exports and New Facilities
India’s electronics exports have increased sixfold over the last decade, reaching over ₹3.5 lakh crore. The newly inaugurated SMT Line, VVDN’s largest to date, supports large PCB sizes and offers a high-speed capacity of 250,000 components per hour. Alongside, the company is establishing a 150,000 sq ft Mechanical Innovation Park equipped with mold and tool-making infrastructure, further enhancing design-to-manufacture capabilities.
Job Creation and Future Outlook
VVDN’s expanded facilities are expected to create over 3,000 high-skilled jobs. The launch reinforces the government’s push for Atmanirbhar Bharat by fostering high-volume manufacturing, cutting-edge design, and advanced skilling in India’s technology sector.
