Mumbai-based startup Aerem is building a full-stack clean energy platform aimed at making rooftop solar adoption easier and more accessible, especially for India’s underserved MSME sector.

Focus on End-to-End Solutions

Founded in 2021 by Anand Jain and Vikesh Agarwal, Aerem offers a unified platform that simplifies every step of the solar installation process. This includes financing, equipment procurement, and access to verified installers.

Financial Access Through NetZero Finance

To support small businesses and homeowners, Aerem provides tailored financing through its NBFC arm, NetZero Finance. The goal is to remove credit barriers that often prevent adoption of clean energy solutions.

SunStore Marketplace and Installer Network

Aerem operates SunStore, a curated B2B marketplace for solar equipment. It also supports over 2,000 verified solar installers, giving customers reliable access to services across India.

Expansion in Underserved Regions

The company is actively expanding into eastern and southern India, regions that have seen relatively low rooftop solar penetration. Aerem aims to reach more customers while reducing acquisition costs using digital tools and a dense installer network.

Measurable Climate and Cost Impact

As of April 2025, Aerem has enabled over 800 megawatts of installed solar capacity and financed more than 800 projects in 65 cities. These installations are estimated to have prevented nearly 22 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions and could save MSMEs up to ₹14,000 crore in energy costs over their lifetime.

Scalable Tech Infrastructure

Aerem is strengthening its digital infrastructure, including the use of digital twin technology, to streamline project planning and execution. This makes the solar adoption process faster and more cost-efficient.

Vision for the Future

Aerem positions itself not just as a service provider but as a long-term partner in clean energy adoption. With a strong focus on deep tech, financing innovation, and marketplace scale, the startup is contributing to India’s solar transition in a structured and scalable way.
