Alice Walton, the heir to Walmart, is now the world’s richest woman with a net worth of $102 billion. This wealth has grown by 46% in the past year, largely due to the rise in Walmart’s stock price. Walton is known for her private life, but her spending habits are no secret. She has a deep passion for art and horse breeding, and her fortune is used to fuel these interests.

A Passion for Art

Walton’s love for art began at a young age. She bought her first piece, a Picasso reproduction, at the age of 10 for just $2. Over the years, she built a collection of valuable American art, including works by Andy Warhol, Norman Rockwell, and Georgia O’Keeffe. In 2011, Walton opened the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, to house her collection, which is now valued at $500 million.

Interest in Horse Breeding

Apart from art, Walton is also interested in horse breeding. She previously owned the Rocking W Ranch in Texas, which she sold in 2017 for $16.5 million. The ranch, which covered more than 250 acres, was used for breeding cattle and horses.

Political Donations and Philanthropy

Walton has historically supported Republican candidates and PACs, but she also contributed $353,400 to the Hillary Victory Fund in 2016, supporting Hillary Clinton and other Democrats. Along with her wealth, Walton’s involvement in politics adds to her public profile.

Alice Walton’s wealth and interests make her one of the most influential women in the world. Whether it’s through her art collection, horse breeding, or philanthropy, Walton continues to use her fortune to leave a mark in various fields. She is followed closely by other wealthy women, but for now, she holds the title of the world’s richest woman.
