Pod Retiring Rooms Launched in Bhopal

Bhopal Railway Station launches Madhya Pradesh's first pod retiring room facility with 78 modern pods, offering passengers affordable, private resting spaces with amenities like Wi-Fi, AC, and entertainment.

Bhopal Railway Station has introduced Madhya Pradesh’s first pod retiring room facility, making it the second such facility in India after Mumbai Central station. Located on platform no. 6, the pod setup includes 78 private spaces for short-term passenger use.

Pricing and Amenities
The facility offers two main pod types:

  • Multi-bed pods: ₹200 for 3 hours
  • Family pods: ₹400 for 3 hours
    Rates increase based on duration of use. Each pod includes a bed, luggage space, charging points, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, and mirror. Toilets are separate for men and women.

Structure and Capacity
The pod facility comprises:

  • 40 multi-bed pods for men
  • 18 multi-bed pods for women
  • 20 family pods
    Additional features include CCTV monitoring, locker and luggage room, and fire safety measures.

Booking Options
Passengers can book pods online via the IRCTC website or offline at the station. A valid PNR number is required for all bookings.

Purpose and Operations
The facility was created to meet the short-term resting needs of the 70,000 daily travelers at Bhopal station. It is operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
