On April 1, NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), launched a comprehensive digital platform aimed at improving access to crucial state-level economic data. The NITI NCAER States Economic Forum portal consolidates nearly three decades of data, covering financial years from 1990-91 to 2022-23.

The portal offers detailed reports, research papers, and expert analysis on various state finances and socio-economic parameters, providing a robust resource for policymakers and researchers. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to officially unveil the portal.
Key Features of the Portal:
- State Reports: Overview of economic and fiscal conditions across 28 states, focusing on demographics, economic structure, and performance.
- Data Repository: Direct access to datasets on demographics, economy, fiscal matters, health, and education.
- State Fiscal and Economic Dashboard: A visual representation of key economic indicators over time.
- Research and Commentary: In-depth studies on state finances and fiscal policy offering expert analysis and recommendations.
The portal aims to enhance data-driven decision-making and will support informed debates, allowing users to track historical trends and formulate evidence-based policies. It serves as an essential tool for understanding the economic landscape of India’s states, fostering better policy formulation at both state and national levels.
