Nissan is gearing up to introduce a new 7-seater MPV in India, based on the Renault Triber facelift. Recently, a Renault Triber facelift was spotted on a flatbed truck, indicating an imminent launch. Nissan had promised a Triber-based MPV back in 2023, and now, the Japanese brand has officially teased its upcoming model.

Design and Styling
The new Nissan MPV will share its platform with the Renault Triber but will feature distinct design elements. The teaser reveals a revised front and rear bumper, giving the car a fresh look. While the headlights remain similar to the Triber, Nissan has added LED DRLs and an LED wrap-around design. The grille has also been redesigned with a larger hexagonal pattern, setting it apart from its Renault counterpart. Nissan aims to manufacture and sell 1,00,000 units annually, with plans for exports as well.

Features and Interior Upgrades
The Renault Triber has always been a basic MPV with limited features. While Nissan has not officially revealed the feature list, the new MPV is expected to include upgrades such as automatic climate control, wireless charging, cruise control, an auto-dimming IRVM, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. These additions will enhance the vehicle’s appeal, making it a more value-for-money offering.
Engine and Performance
The upcoming Nissan MPV is likely to retain the Renault Triber’s powertrain. It will feature a 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 71bhp and 96Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. There is also speculation that Nissan might introduce a sportier variant equipped with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine from the Nissan Magnite, offering more power and performance.

Expected Pricing and Launch
Nissan has not disclosed the pricing details yet, but the new MPV is expected to be slightly more expensive than the Renault Triber. Given the added features and design changes, the pricing strategy will be crucial in positioning it competitively in the market.

With its fresh design, feature enhancements, and Nissan’s brand reliability, this new 7-seater MPV could be an attractive option for Indian buyers seeking a compact yet spacious family car.
