The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), a part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has successfully completed around 30,000 autonomous vehicle trips, covering over 430,000 km in Abu Dhabi. Following the success of trials in Yas and Saadiyat Islands, the service is now expanding to Zayed International Airport’s access roads.

Dr. Abdulla Al Ghafli, Acting Director-General of the Integrated Transport Centre, highlighted the importance of enhancing digital and regulatory infrastructure to ensure the seamless integration of autonomous vehicles. Safety remains a top priority, with advanced insurance models, cybersecurity measures, and legislative frameworks in place to regulate and license autonomous transport operations.

Vision for 2040
Abu Dhabi Mobility aims to achieve several key goals by 2040:

Autonomous vehicle operations in Abu Dhabi have recorded zero incidents so far, demonstrating their reliability in an urban setting. The emirate continues to position itself as a global leader in smart mobility, ensuring innovation and efficiency in future transport solutions.
