A farmer from Kerala, Peter Lenu, has achieved global recognition after his pet goat, Karumbi, was officially named the shortest living goat in the world by Guinness World Records. The tiny black pygmy goat, born in 2021, stands just 1.3 feet (40.50 cm) tall at the age of four.

A Unique Breed
Karumbi belongs to the Canadian pygmy goat breed, known for its genetic dwarfism. Unlike regular goats, this breed has naturally short legs, never growing beyond 21 inches (53 cm) in height.
A Social Farm Companion
Despite her small size, Karumbi is one of the most social animals on Peter’s farm. She lives alongside three male goats, nine female goats, ten kids, as well as cows, rabbits, hens, and ducks.
A Growing Goat Family
Adding to the excitement, Karumbi is currently pregnant. With her next baby on the way, Peter hopes the newborn may break records of its own in the future.

The Road to Guinness Recognition
The idea to apply for the record came from a farm visitor. Encouraged by the suggestion, Peter took Karumbi to a veterinarian for official measurements. Once confirmed that she was fully grown and healthy, he was thrilled to learn she qualified for the world record.

Commitment to Animal Care
Peter takes pride in maintaining the genetic quality of his farm animals. He promises to continue providing special care to Karumbi and eagerly awaits the birth of her baby, hoping it will be as extraordinary as its mother.
