NASA has successfully launched the Crew-10 mission aboard the Falcon 9 rocket to facilitate the long-awaited return of astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore from the International Space Station (ISS). The launch took place from Kennedy Space Center, carrying the SpaceX Dragon Crew-10 spacecraft, which plays a critical role in their return journey.

Crucial Mission for Crew-9’s Return
If the Crew-10 mission proceeds as planned, Sunita and Wilmore, members of the Crew-9 team who have been stranded in space for months, will finally be able to return to Earth. NASA officials have stated that their return could take place within two days of Crew-10’s arrival at the ISS.

Prolonged Stay Due to Technical Issues
Sunita and Wilmore initially traveled to the ISS in June 2024 aboard the Boeing Starliner spacecraft for what was supposed to be an eight-day mission. However, a technical malfunction in the spacecraft prevented their scheduled return, extending their stay in space for nearly nine months.
With the successful launch of Crew-10, NASA is now hopeful that this long-delayed return mission will soon bring the astronauts back home safely.
