According to recent reports, Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service is expected to be significantly more expensive in India compared to existing broadband providers. While the company has not officially announced pricing, estimates suggest it could cost nearly ten times more than Airtel and Jio.

Starlink offers speeds between 50-200 Mbps, whereas Airtel and Jio provide 100-200 Mbps. However, the initial setup cost for Starlink is a steep ₹52,242, whereas Airtel and Jio charge only ₹1,000.
The monthly subscription fee for Starlink is ₹10,469, while Airtel’s plans range from ₹799-₹999, and Jio’s from ₹699-₹999. Additionally, being a foreign service provider, Starlink is subject to a 30% tax, compared to the 18% tax levied on Airtel and Jio.
If pricing remains unchanged, Starlink users may end up paying ₹2,15,600 annually, while Airtel and Jio users would pay between ₹10,898 and ₹15,146 per year.
