India will present its waste management practices from Maha Kumbh at the ‘Regional 3R and Circular Economy Forum in Asia and the Pacific’ in Jaipur. Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced that 25 countries and 500 delegates will participate in the three-day event starting March 3.

Maha Kumbh’s Large-Scale Cleanliness Effort
The Maha Kumbh, held in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, is the world’s largest religious gathering. Running for 45 days, it has seen over 60 crore pilgrims take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. Authorities have deployed 25,000 personnel to manage waste efficiently across 4,000 hectares.

India to Showcase ‘Waste to Wealth’ Initiatives
The Maha Kumbh’s waste management model is being praised globally for its effectiveness. India will highlight these best practices at the forum, focusing on the ‘waste to wealth’ concept to promote the circular economy.

This is the second time India is hosting the ‘Regional 3R and Circular Economy Forum in Asia and the Pacific.’ Organized by the United Nations Centre for Regional Development, Japan, and the Union Housing Ministry, the event aims to create strategies for zero-waste societies in the Asia-Pacific region.
