Lulu Group International is gearing up for expansion in India, with plans for a new project in Nagpur.
In an exclusive chat with ANI, Chairman and Managing Director M.A. Yusuff Ali revealed that the group is in the early stages of planning for projects in cities like Visakhapatnam and Ahmedabad.

“We want to contribute to India’s goal of becoming a USD 5 trillion economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are building one of the largest shopping malls in Ahmedabad, with discussions ongoing for another in Visakhapatnam. Additionally, architectural planning has begun for a project in Nagpur,” he said.
Yusuff Ali also thanked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his support in setting up malls in Visakhapatnam.
Nagpur remains a key focus for Lulu Group, with Yusuff Ali confirming their commitment to expanding in the city.
India-Qatar Trade Ties Strengthen
Speaking on India’s trade and investment relations, Yusuff Ali emphasized the strong partnership between India and Qatar.
“The bond between India and Qatar is deep. The Prime Minister personally receiving the Amir of Qatar at the airport highlights this. Qatar sees India as a key partner and is exploring investments in AI, digitalization, IT, food processing, and food security,” he noted.
Lulu Group, one of the world’s largest retail chains, continues to expand in India, boosting the country’s economy through retail and food processing investments.
Yusuff Ali is in India as part of Qatar’s Amir’s two-day state visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation. The Amir last visited India in March 2015.
