The Adani Foundation has entered into a collaboration with GEMS Education, a globally recognized leader in private K-12 education, to create world-class educational institutions across India. This partnership, backed by an initial donation of INR 2,000 Cr from the Adani family, is focused on providing affordable and high-quality education to students from all sections of society. The initiative aligns with Chairman Gautam Adani’s social philosophy: सेवा साधना है, सेवा प्रार्थना है और सेवा ही परमात्मा है (service is devotion and worship).

Affordable World-Class Education

The first “Adani GEMS School of Excellence” will open in Lucknow in the academic year 2025-26. Over the next three years, the partnership plans to roll out at least 20 schools in key metropolitan cities across India, expanding to Tier II to IV cities thereafter. These schools will offer a unique blend of global educational standards and Indian curriculum, ensuring that students receive a top-tier education while being rooted in their cultural context.

In a remarkable step to enhance inclusivity, the partnership will reserve 30% of seats in the CBSE curriculum for underserved and deserving students, making high-quality education accessible to a larger demographic.

Focus on Research and Innovation

Beyond school education, the partnership also aims to establish cutting-edge research institutions dedicated to developing teaching competencies, innovation, and capability building. By combining GEMS Education’s global expertise with Adani Group’s extensive infrastructure capabilities, this initiative aims to build a scalable and sustainable model for education in India.

Gautam Adani’s Vision for Education

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed the company’s commitment to making education affordable and widely accessible. “By adopting global best practices and innovative digital learning, we aim to equip the next generation of change-makers to become socially responsible leaders in India,” said Adani.

Expanding Educational Reach

GEMS Education’s founder and chairman, Sunny Varkey, emphasized the importance of accessible quality education. “The collaboration with the Adani Foundation will strengthen us to expand our reach and impact, bringing our global educational expertise to learners and teachers in diverse regions of India,” said Varkey.

Building a Future-Ready Workforce

The Adani-GEMS collaboration is more than just about schools—it’s a long-term commitment to transforming India’s education landscape. The focus will be on creating a highly skilled and value-driven talent pool to cater to the country’s growing workforce needs. These schools will combine global curriculum standards with the best of Indian study boards, empowering students with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.

Through this initiative, the Adani Foundation and GEMS Education are determined to shape the future of Indian education by making it more inclusive, accessible, and relevant to the needs of tomorrow’s leaders.
