The Mahakumbh Mela, held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is the largest gathering in the world, drawing millions from all walks of life, including vendors. One of them, content creator Shubham Prajapat, has gone viral for an experiment he conducted to see how much he could earn by selling tea at the gathering. His results have left many surprised and impressed.

Shocking Earnings: ₹5,000 Profit in One Day

In a video posted by Prajapat, he shared his daily experience of selling chai and water bottles to mela-goers. According to him, the day started with brisk sales in the morning, followed by a slow afternoon. But in the evening, Prajapat took to walking around the event, selling his product. By the end of the day, he revealed that he had made ₹7,000 in total sales, leading to a ₹5,000 profit.

Social Media Reactions: A Mixed Bag

The video quickly gained attention on social media, with reactions flooding in. Many were amazed by Prajapat’s ability to generate profit in a day, and some even tried to calculate how much he could earn in a month. One user pointed out that if he made ₹5,000 per day, he could earn ₹1,50,000 in a month. Others hailed him as the “Kumbh Chaiwala,” drawing comparisons to another viral tea seller, Dolly Chaiwala from Nagpur.

Inspiration and Criticism

While some expressed admiration for his entrepreneurial spirit, others took to commenting that they too might try this business model. A few users even shared how Prajapat’s success story was motivating them to rethink their career paths. However, not all attention was positive. Despite his viral success, Prajapat’s journey also echoes the experience of other vendors at the event, such as Monalisa Bholse, whose viral moment did not lead to a sustained business boost.

Shubham Prajapat’s experiment at the Mahakumbh Mela showcases the potential of small-scale businesses in high-traffic events. His surprising profit has sparked discussions around entrepreneurship, business strategies, and the power of social media in transforming a simple idea into a viral success.
