Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced the ‘Rail Bus’ at the World Government Summit. This eco-friendly transport system operates at 100 kmph and accommodates 40 passengers.

A rail bus is a lightweight rail vehicle designed for passenger transport on railway tracks. It offers a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to conventional transport.
- Solar-Powered Innovation
RTA signed an MoU with U.S.-based Rail Bus Inc. last year to develop this system, which runs on a bridge equipped with solar panels for power generation. Another agreement was signed with UK-based Urban-Mass to explore the Floc Duo Rail system, a double-track driverless transit system.
- Future-Ready Transport
The Floc Duo Rail system adapts to peak and non-peak hours by using shorter or longer units as needed. Meanwhile, the solar-powered rail bus provides a cost-efficient solution for urban mobility.
