Kerala Tourism has launched a fresh campaign to attract more domestic travelers, especially families. The initiative was introduced in Ahmedabad, where officials showcased the state’s diverse travel experiences. The campaign aims to boost footfall from different parts of India by promoting Kerala’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and newly developed tourism projects.
Growing Interest from Gujarat
Sajesh N, Information Officer of Kerala Tourism, stated that new tourism experiences are being introduced to appeal to family tourists. Last year, over three lakh visitors from Gujarat explored Kerala, making it one of the most important domestic markets. This year, the tourism department is aiming for an even higher number by offering better travel packages, improved facilities, and a range of unique experiences.
Spotlight on North Kerala
The campaign highlights North Kerala as a prime travel destination, focusing on Bekal, Wayanad, and Kozhikode. These locations, known for their natural beauty, historical significance, and rich cultural heritage, are being promoted with improved infrastructure and better connectivity. Lesser-known spots are also being introduced to encourage visitors to explore beyond the usual tourist circuits.
New Travel Experiences
Kerala Tourism is enhancing the travel experience with innovative initiatives like heli-tourism and seaplane services. These services will provide tourists with breathtaking aerial views of Kerala’s landscapes, making travel faster and more exciting. Additionally, the department is working on expanding eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and rural tourism to offer visitors more diverse options.
Traditional Attractions Remain Strong
Despite new initiatives, Kerala’s classic attractions continue to be a major draw. Its pristine beaches, misty hill stations, picturesque backwaters, and luxurious houseboat stays remain top choices for travelers. Ayurveda and wellness tourism, known for Kerala’s world-class spa treatments and holistic healing practices, also continue to attract visitors looking for relaxation and rejuvenation
Enhanced Infrastructure and Connectivity
To support the tourism boom, Kerala is improving road networks, upgrading accommodations, and increasing flight connectivity from major cities. The introduction of new tourist-friendly policies, digital guides, and better on-ground facilities will make travel smoother and more enjoyable for visitors.
With a mix of traditional charm and modern travel experiences, Kerala Tourism’s latest campaign is set to make the state an even more attractive destination for domestic travelers.
