The CR450 is set to outperform the existing CR400 Fuxing trains, which currently have a top speed of 350 km/h. The CR450 will surpass that with a maximum speed of 400 km/h, making it a remarkable addition to high-speed rail travel.
Speed and Distance Coverage
Unlike the Japanese bullet train, which has a maximum speed of 320 km/h and an operational speed of 260 km/h, the CR450 promises impressive time savings. It can cover the distance between Delhi and Patna (1,000 km) in just 2.5 hours, and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route in about 1.15 hours. In contrast, the Japanese system takes 3.5 hours for the Delhi-Varanasi journey.
Luxury Facilities
Passengers will enjoy a high level of comfort with luxury reclining seats, private compartments, a multi-purpose room, and a modern pantry. In terms of amenities, the CR450 outshines even some aircraft with its advanced facilities.
Testing and Optimization
China Railway is preparing for extensive line tests of the CR450 prototypes to optimize its technical parameters. This will ensure the trains are ready for commercial operation and meet high-performance standards.
Train Models
The CR450 will be available in two prototypes: the CR450AF and CR450BF. Both feature an eight-car configuration, with four powered and four non-powered carriages for better performance and energy efficiency.
Traction and Stability
Equipped with a water-cooled permanent magnet traction system, the CR450 boasts advanced performance capabilities. The high-stability bogie system ensures enhanced safety and operational reliability, setting a new benchmark for high-speed trains.
Comprehensive Safety Features
Safety is a top priority for the CR450, with multiple emergency braking systems and over 4,000 sensors for real-time monitoring. This includes fire detection, train control, and a car body system, as well as an over-the-horizon recognition system to improve emergency responses.
Aerodynamic Design
The CR450 features a cutting-edge, aerodynamic design, including a sharp-nosed front and streamlined windshields. Its lightweight materials reduce air resistance, improving speed and overall efficiency.
