In a conversation with Channeliam’s Nisha Krishnan, Pradeep Palazhi, Founder and CEO of ThinkBio.Ai, discusses the company’s vision for the future of AI in healthcare and his recent acquisition of Feathers Software, a Kerala-based software company. Mr. Palazhi outlines the company’s growth strategy, its focus on digital biology, and how AI is transforming biotech and healthcare.

ThinkBio.Ai’s Vision

ThinkBio.Ai stands out for its unique combination of AI, computational biology, bioinformatics, and cheminformatics. The company’s goal is to provide AI-powered solutions that span from research and development (R&D) to clinical applications. “We have scientific teams that cover every aspect of the healthcare value chain,” says Mr. Palazhi. ThinkBio.Ai is focused on building platforms that support research, clinical trials, and drug development.

As part of its strategy, the company is seeking strategic acquisitions like Feathers Software, which will help strengthen its backend operations.

The Acquisition of Feathers Software

Feathers Software, based in Kerala, was acquired for its expertise in software engineering and cloud solutions, which will enhance ThinkBio.Ai’s platform. “We were looking for companies that could support our core offerings, and Feathers was a perfect fit,” explains Mr. Palazhi. Being from Kerala, this acquisition also has personal significance, and he is eager to contribute to the growth of Kerala’s tech ecosystem.

Focus on Innovation and Investment

ThinkBio.Ai is investing in two key areas: digital biology and AI. The company is particularly interested in supporting startups that work in these fields, helping them grow through investment, mentoring, and market access. “We want to build an ecosystem that fosters innovation and supports emerging companies in biotech and AI,” Mr. Palazhi says.

A Journey from Kerala to California

Mr. Palazhi’s career began in the Indian IT sector in the 1990s before moving to California, where he became part of the early tech revolution. After two decades in the US healthcare sector, he identified an opportunity to leverage AI and digital biology to solve challenges in healthcare, leading to the creation of ThinkBio.Ai.

Giving Back to Kerala

Despite living in California, Mr. Palazhi is committed to contributing to Kerala’s tech scene. “We are always looking for ways to engage with the Kerala tech ecosystem, and the acquisition of Feathers Software is just one way to make an impact,” he says. His vision extends beyond business, aiming to create an ecosystem that nurtures talent and connects the US and India’s AI and biotech industries.

Looking Ahead

With his deep experience in healthcare, IT, and AI, Mr. Palazhi’s leadership is shaping the future of digital biology and AI-driven healthcare solutions. ThinkBio.Ai’s expansion promises exciting opportunities for Kerala’s growing tech industry. “We’re committed to creating solutions that truly make a difference,” he concludes.
