Two major international airports are set to change the travel landscape in 2025. Navi Mumbai International Airport and Noida International Airport in Uttar Pradesh are expected to open in mid-2025, offering enhanced connectivity.
Navi Mumbai International Airport: Expected Launch in 2025
Navi Mumbai’s long-awaited international airport is slated for an April 2025 opening. Phase one will include one terminal, a runway, and a parallel taxiway. Eventually, the airport will have four terminals and two runways, complementing Mumbai’s existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Located near Panvel, the airport will provide easier travel for passengers from Pune, reducing the five-hour travel time to Mumbai. Adani Airport Holdings Ltd is developing the airport, but details about specific flights are still pending.
Noida International Airport: Opening in April 2025
Noida International Airport is set to open on April 17, 2025, with operations starting in phases. Phase one will feature one terminal, one runway, 10 aerobridges, and 25 parking stands. The airport is expected to handle 65 daily flights, including 62 domestic, two international, and one cargo flight. IndiGo and Akasa Air will operate flights from Noida, including international routes to Zurich, Singapore, and Dubai, and domestic routes to cities like Lucknow, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The airport is developed by Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, and holds great promise for the region’s travel infrastructure.
