Dubai Police has unveiled plans to establish the Middle East’s first floating Smart Police Station (SPS) by the end of 2026. The project, part of strategic initiatives worth AED 2 billion launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to redefine access to police services with advanced technology and innovative design.
24/7 Smart Services at Sea
The floating SPS will operate round the clock without human intervention, offering 27 primary services and 33 additional services across six languages. These include filing criminal and traffic reports, retrieving lost items, and processing certificates and permits.
Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Tamimi, Director of Assets and Facilities Department at Dubai Police, highlighted that the floating station is designed to cater specifically to yacht and boat owners, as well as water sports enthusiasts. “This initiative ensures fast and easy access to services while promoting community happiness,” he said.
Smart Design for Seamless Access
The station’s design incorporates features to facilitate smooth boarding and disembarking for maritime vessels. It represents the fourth edition of Dubai’s Smart Police Stations, following Walk-in, Drive-thru, and traditional SPS models.
Supporting Dubai’s Smart City Vision
The floating SPS is aligned with Dubai Police’s mission to reduce visitor numbers at conventional service centres by leveraging artificial intelligence and robotics. This initiative contributes to Dubai’s ambition of becoming the world’s smartest and happiest city.
Strategic Significance
Dubai Police emphasised that the project enhances the sense of security within the community and raises the quality of life. It reflects the emirate’s forward-thinking approach, integrating technology with community-focused initiatives to redefine modern policing.
By the end of 2026, this world-class innovation will be a beacon of Dubai’s commitment to technological advancement and community well-being.
