Astronaut Sunita Williams showcased her expertise aboard the International Space Station (ISS) by taking charge of vital maintenance tasks. She worked extensively on the Tranquility module’s waste and hygiene compartment, the station’s bathroom system, ensuring it operated seamlessly. This work highlights her commitment to maintaining essential life-support systems in space.

Spacesuit Servicing Support

Sunita played a key role in supporting spacesuit maintenance alongside NASA Flight Engineer Butch Wilmore. She assisted in installing camera and data cables on a newly delivered spacesuit from the SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft.

Additionally, she helped Wilmore with the upkeep of two other spacesuits in the Quest airlock. Their maintenance, including refilling water tanks, ensures they are prepared for future spacewalks or extravehicular activities.

Diverse Responsibilities on the ISS

Sunita’s contributions underline the variety of tasks astronauts perform, from maintaining crucial systems to supporting scientific operations. Her ability to handle these challenges ensures the ISS continues to function smoothly.
