Milky Plant: Simplify Homemade Plant-Based Milk with a Cost-Effective, Eco-Friendly Machine

Plant-based milks are becoming increasingly popular, with 46% of Britons choosing vegan alternatives over dairy. London-based brand Milky Plant has introduced a machine designed to simplify making these milks at home, promising benefits for both the environment and your finances.

How the Milky Plant Machine Works

The Milky Plant machine allows users to create a variety of non-dairy milks using just tap water and 80 grams of ingredients. There’s no need for pre-soaking or straining. The machine offers flexibility to adjust thickness, sweetness, and flavour, enabling the production of everything from basic oat milk to more adventurous blends like blueberry quinoa or hazelnut chocolate milk.

Operating similarly to an espresso maker, users place raw ingredients such as coconut flakes, almonds, hemp, or oats into the top grinder. The machine grinds and blends these with water, then filters the mixture to produce fresh, homemade milk.

Cost and Environmental Benefits

Making plant-based milk at home can be significantly more cost-effective. The Milky Plant machine produces milk for as little as 42p per litre, compared to up to £2.50 per litre for store-bought options. This DIY approach not only saves money but also reduces the use of single-use cartons and the environmental impact associated with large-scale commercial production.

Financial and Environmental Savings

Homemade plant-based milk offers substantial savings and environmental benefits. By avoiding the cost of store-bought milk and reducing packaging waste, users can make a positive impact on both their budgets and the environment. With potential annual savings of up to £240, the Milky Plant machine proves to be a valuable investment for those seeking to enjoy fresh, cost-effective, and eco-friendly milk alternatives.
