Philanthropist Sudha Murty and her husband, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, are making headlines once again. The couple recently gifted their four-month-old grandson, Ekagrah Rohan Murty, shares valued at approximately Rs 240 crore, making him one of the youngest millionaires in India. With this gift, he now holds a 0.04% stake in Infosys, amounting to 1.5 million shares. This transfer caused Narayana Murthy’s personal stake in the company to decrease from 0.40% to 0.36%.
Welcoming a New Generation
Ekagrah, born in November 2023, brought immense joy to the Murthy family as Narayana and Sudha celebrated the arrival of their third grandchild. His name, “Ekagrah,” derives from Sanskrit, symbolising unwavering focus and determination, much like Arjuna, the legendary archer from the Mahabharata.
