Actor Zayed Khan, famous for his role in Main Hoon Na, recently made some astute financial comments during an interview. Dismissing reports claiming him to be Rs 1,500 crore plus, Zayed Khan candidly summed up, with a chuckle, that he could not let this go: “People say I have Rs 1,500-crore plus money, I call it Rs 50,000. I live within my means, and will not flaunt wealth.” He added that, compared to other profession, one needs common sense to make sense of the uncertainty in the film industry.
Financial Advice for Upcoming Actors
In an interview with Subhojit Ghosh, Zayed offered much-needed sound advice to aspiring actors: “One needs to save money.” He cautioned them not to indulge in reckless spending because, he would say sarcastically, “if you can afford a Ferrari, buy a Mercedes; if you can afford a Mercedes, buy a Fiat.” Adding a tinge of sarcasm, he spoke of how social media pressures have made people live beyond their means and ha[d] become the leading cause of debt and bad accounting. “Some are doing good, but 80% are not. They’re becoming broke with EMIs and debt, trying to fix past mistakes,” he added.
Value of Simplicity and Staying Authentic
Zayed further expounded on living simply, not trying to impress others. He encouraged people to find out what matters by saying, “You don’t have to wear something new every day or be embarrassed about where you come from. Just be who you are.” He cautions against the seeking of validation at all times through quoting, “The sure way to failure is trying to please everybody.”
Strength of Character Encouragement
Zayed also shared some personal philosophies about life, exhorting people, mainly the youth, to practise resilience together with character strength. He condemned societal influences to lead an ostentatious life, calling it “terrible, obscene, criminal.” He cited a saying: “The world needs warriors, not parasites,” challenging people to become warriors in life rather than parasites that feed on others’ labour.
Speaking of Career and Rumors
In the light of his career, Zayed dismissed bad choices that led him to sit out from film industry: He denied all rumours about any arguable tension between him and his father, Sanjay Khan. He last featured in the movie Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene, which was released in 2015. Moreover, he was recently seen on the small screen with the television series Haasil during 2017-2018. Now, after keeping everyone wondering about his comeback for quite some time, Zayed is all set to make a comeback and conquer new heights in his career.
